I was skeptical about this program when I saw photos of the costume. I am in a big believer in not pants on the ladies, dresses only please!. However, I actually loved this program. Mao herself said she would be portraying a cute (her word was kawaii) Scheherazade, and she certainly was. Love her genie step sequence. Really want her to sport a Barbara Eden style pony tail, or something similar to her Princess Jasmine side pony. She looks sooo much better than last year. Love the smile after the botch axel. My new thinsperation.
Last Saturday night, as the busiest man in rock and roll and I were enjoying post celebrations of his sister wedding back west, we watch this. November Rain. This is amazing for a myriad of reasons. First of all, it has Slash(!!) in all his glory. What a mega babe. Soloing out in the desert for about 6 minutes. It took me a while to realise that Slash's signature on social media sites isn't the world " Iii| " with a weird drooling smiley to follow, but instead IT IS HIMSELF!! Iii|; )' Actual guitar hero, and twitter literate.
This is also possibly the most fashionable film clip for the current 90's revival. The amazing mullet wedding dress, Axl dressed as the Scarlet Pimpernel, everything that Slash wears. The guy that jumps into the wedding cake. The corpse bride. The elbow gloved back up dancers. The extreme budget. The extreme production.
Good times. Thank you Rage.
*The fonts are messed up in this post because I copied Slash's siggy (ciggy) straight from the interwebs. He is probably better at this sort of stuff than me. Just sayin'.
With the new skating season finally underway and my growing dissatisfaction with the International Judging System (CoP), I get my annual longing for days of old, and the twinge in my heart thats says, miss you Michelle Kwan.
This was the first program of hers I ever saw. 12 year old Moloko insisted that The Mama made my upcoming competition dress to look JUST LIKE THAT. I was devastated when we had to use sequins instead of rhinestones.
When she wasn't wearing Vera Wang, she was Sassy Kwan!
